The history of ZAOKA
A start of a dream…
3 minutes walking from the famous Rue Mouffetard in the centre of Latin quarter; stone wall, dark grey mixed Tiffany blue, wood chairs with the shadow of filament bulbs, every detail is designed by ourselves. A cozy modern atmosphere; with an open kitchen which allows the chef talk to our customers directly…this is our ZAOKA.

Specialised in Taiwanese fusion cuisine, the word Zaoka actually means kitchen in Taiwanese. We want our restaurant is just like everyone’s second kitchen where they can enjoy a wholehearted cooking. Inherited from our founder Christina Huang’s grandma recipe of our signature dish Gua Bao, also inspired from a trip together in Taiwan, our Zaoka is the dream of three young people from three different countries: Christina from Taiwan, Guo is from China, and Franck is from France. We come from different background, but we have the same dream: to show the world how good Taiwanese street food can be, and to evaluate it into a different fusion bistronomy level.

The concept of the cuisine and pastry in Zaoka is that we love to use local ingredients to interpret exotic food; or to inspire delicate french pastry with Asian flavour. Except our speciality Gua Bao, we also have developed a variety of french pastry with Asian inspiration, served with Taiwanese tea. Our two chef Christina and Guo both obtained the culinary diploma at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, and as the other business partner Franck is from Paris, fusion cuisine definitely represents our team. Therefore we decided to build our first restaurant in the most competitive gastronomy capital, Paris, not only this is the perfect location to shine our restaurant, but also to present our fusion food with multi-cultural sparkles, and it is the start to the infinite food discovery dream…
